Proper care is crucial to ensure that they function reliably for many years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Whether for daily or seasonal use:<\/strong> If you follow a few basic rules, you can significantly extend the service life of lead-acid batteries and increase their reliability. Our <strong>\"Golden rules\"<\/strong> show you what is important.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Our golden rules for long-lasting batteries:<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Use a suitable charger<\/strong>&nbsp;<br>Make sure that the charger and battery are optimally matched - this protects against overcharging or undercharging.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"2\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Do not forget to charge for the first time<\/strong>&nbsp;<br>Charge the battery at least <strong>24 hours before the first use<\/strong>to activate its full capacity.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"3\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Avoid deep discharge<\/strong>&nbsp;<br>A discharge of more than <strong>60 %<\/strong> can have a negative effect on the service life - regular recharging is ideal.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"4\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Do not store empty<\/strong>&nbsp;<br>The battery should not be completely discharged even if it is not used for a longer period of time - a minimum charge level protects the cells.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"5\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Charging with the load switched off<\/strong>&nbsp;<br>When charging, the connected load should be switched off in order to optimise the charging conditions.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"6\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Regular winter care<\/strong>&nbsp;<br>If batteries are not used for a longer period of time, e.g. in winter, they should be recharged for <strong>24 hours at least<\/strong> every two months.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Why good care is worthwhile<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>With the right handling - regardless of how often the battery is used - you will noticeably extend the service life of your lead-acid battery.
