According to the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems, photovoltaics increased its share of the electricity mix by 19 per cent in 2022 compared to the previous year. German photovoltaic systems generated around 58 TWh in 2022, of which around 53 TWh was fed into the public grid and 5 TWh was consumed. Against the backdrop of market policy issues, the key figures also indicate that a new era of steady growth has begun for the photovoltaic industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die Zeitenwende im Energiemarkt hat viele Gesch\u00e4ftsmodelle vor Herausforderungen gestellt. Customers are currently focussing on large-scale projects with special requirements, such as municipal buildings, industrial plants and locations of small and medium-sized companies. A clear advantage for the wholesaler's partners is that they have access to an existing logistics and contact network in the electronics wholesale trade. This includes, for example, the compliant handling of hazardous goods and the direct delivery of individual systems to construction sites. This significantly improves the set-up time and corresponding cost-effectiveness for individual and large-scale projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Photovoltaics \"central component of the energy transition\"<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The German government is currently amending laws to reduce bureaucratic hurdles in the area of wind power and photovoltaics. The Federal Ministry of Economics is working with experts on new legislative packages, the so-called solar packages 1 and 2. The way is also to be cleared for PV garden and so-called tenant PV systems, for example.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A decision by the Bundestag is expected after the second solar summit in May, according to the strategy paper. The decisive factor is often whether an intelligent storage system is also installed. The self-consumption of photovoltaic systems without battery storage varies depending on the size of the system, the consumption behaviour of the households and the geographical location. Recognised industry associations such as the German Solar Industry Association and the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems put the self-consumption of an average household without storage at around 30 to 40 percent. If you want to utilise more self-produced electricity, this works particularly well with a storage system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let's assume that a detached house with an average annual electricity consumption of 4,000 kWh installs a PV system with an output of 5 kWp and a battery storage system with a capacity of 5 kWh. The PV system produces around 4,500 kWh of electricity per year and the proportion of self-consumption is 70 per cent, i.e. around 3,150 kWh can be used by the homeowner. At an electricity price of \u20ac0.40 per kWh, a small system like this already saves a tangible amount of \u20ac1,260 per year. If other electricity consumers are added, such as an electric car and heat pump, more modules are installed or even the electricity price increases, several thousand euros can easily be saved per year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For commercial enterprises, local authorities and organisations, the calculation can be even more economical, as further savings effects come into play in the area of large-scale system technology. In some calculations, an investment also serves to simply cushion incalculable energy costs in the future or make them predictable again. Let's assume a small company consumes around 50,000 kWh of electricity per year. Installing a PV system with an output of 60 kWp and a battery storage system with a capacity of 50 kWh can save around \u20ac15,000 per year in electricity costs at a price of \u20ac0.40.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Consumers and businesses should rely on long-standing providers<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Simple examples - whether on the consumer or commercial side - show very quickly that it can be worthwhile using it, as it also reduces dependence on conventional power sources and lowers electricity costs. All that remains is to find the right price and service for the installation - here, of course, it is important to obtain and compare several offers.
